Allotment Inspection
To consider a verbal report from Mrs. Good regarding a recent allotment inspection.

Uncultivated Plots
After the July Environment Committee meeting, due to the poor condition of plots, letters were sent to the tenants stating that, unless work to improve the condition of the plots was undertaken their tenancy would be reviewed.

Green Houses on Allotment Sites
Further to minute 18.7 of the Environment Committee meeting held on 22nd July, 2008 to note that a response is awaited from the Maldon District Council regarding the erection of greenhouses on allotment plots.

To consider a request from the tenant of plot 40b, Maldon Hall allotment site for permission to erect a shed, to the required specification on the plot.

To consider a request from the tenant of plot 7a, Warwick Crescent allotment site for permission to erect a shed, 8ft x 4ft on the south east corner of his plot.

MALDON IN BLOOM
Maldon was awarded a Silver Gilt Award in this year's Anglia In Bloom Competition. To receive and consider the judges comments regarding the town. (copy herewith)

CLOSED CHURCHYARDS
Tree/shrub Planting
Further to minute 20 of the Environment Committee meeting held on 22nd July, 2008, members are informed that Canon Atkins had been delighted and overwhelmed by the towns folk's kindness after the loss of his wife Carole. He stated that Carole's favourite tree had been the Red Leaf Acer and felt that one could be planted at All Saints' Churchyard to replace the Acacia tree in front of the church which is in poor health. Carole's favourite flowers were Poppies and suggested that they could be sown in the area of churchyard in front of the Vicarage alongside Church Walk. With regard to planting in St. Peter's Churchyard to replace of the felled Beech tree, Carole loved Magnolia Stellata.

St. Peter's Churchyard Boundary Wall
To note that the Council's Insurers had agreed to cover the cost (less excess) of the repair of the wall. Work is scheduled to take place within the next few weeks.

TENNYSON ROAD AMENITY AREA
Further to minute 22 of the Environment Committee meeting held on 22nd July, 2008, to receive and consider an email response from Poets Estate Residents Ass.

MARKET HILL GARDEN
Still awaiting response from Maldon District Council regarding a specification for a replacement pathway through the garden.

LEECH MEMORIAL GARDEN
New Seat
To note that a new seat, made from railway sleepers, has been installed in the garden.

Interpretation Board
The Town Clerk is concerned about the resilience of the new information board, and is keeping a watching brief.

Unauthorised Use
No further incidents of unauthorised use of the garden have been reported.

Path
Concern has been expressed regarding the deteriorating condition of the paved pathways through the Garden. To consider whether investigations should be undertaken to replace the pathways.

11. DOG FOULING - DISTRICT WIDE DOG CONTROL ORDER
To receive and consider a letter from the Waste Management Team Leader, MDC, regarding Dog Fouling. (copy herewith - members only)

PARISH PATHS PARTNERSHIP SCHEME (P3) AGM
Notification has been received of the P3 - Community Action Team - AGM being held on Wednesday, 24th September, 2008 commencing at 2.45 pm at Threshelfords, Feering. To consider whether a representative of the Town Council wishes to attend.
