Further to minute 90.2 of the Finance and General Purposes Committee meeting held on 25th February, 2008 to receive and adopt the amended Financial Regulations. To note that should members amend the Standing Orders it may be necessary to make further amendments to the Financial Regulations.

POST OFFICE CLOSURE
To receive a report from Cllr. Shrimpton regarding the imminent closure of the Post Office within the Budgen's Store, following the meeting held in London with John Whittingdale MP, other local representatives and the Post Office. Cllr Shrimpton attended on behalf of the Town Council. (press release herewith)

HIGH STREET SUPPORT
To receive and consider the report of the Town Clerk regarding a request to the Town Council to assist in preventing the decline of the High Street. (copy herewith)

MALDON TWINNING ASSOCIATION
Due to the timescale, to consider a request from the Chairman of the Maldon Twinning Association for the level of the grant towards hosting the visit from Maldon's partner town of Cuijk in June to be agreed. |

ANNUAL REPORT
To receive and consider the draft Annual Report which will be circulated to all residents of the town with the April edition of the Community News. (copy herewith)

ST. GEORGES DAY
Information has been received from Visit England in conjunction with Enjoy England - Celebrate St. Georges Day requesting communities to celebrate being in England on 23rd April (St. Georges Day). It invites communities across the land to join together at 9.30 pm and raise a glass of their favourite tipple, be it English beer, elderflower cordial or a cup of tea in a Toast to England and St George. To consider whether the Town Council wishes to participate in this celebration or to consider alternative suggestions.

CONFERENCES, TRAINING & MEETING
EALC - Short Course for Councillors
Monday, 30th June, 2008 at Plantation Hall, Heybridge - 6.30pm- 8.30 p.m. at a cost of £35.00 per delegate. This would be a very useful course for any councillor who has not previously attended Council Training. To consider whether any members wish to attend.

Maldon District Chamber of Commerce - AGM - 31st March, 2008
Members have been invited to attend the Chamber of Commerce AGM to be held at the office of Burnham Town Council on Monday 31st March, 2008. Cllr. Savage currently represents the Town Council but, should they wish, other members are welcome to attend. Copies of the papers for the meeting are available from the Town Clerk.

Parish Clerk's Forum - 26th March, 2008 - Noon
Members are informed that the Town Clerk will be attending a Parish Clerk's Forum, organised by the Community Services Committee, Maldon District Council at the Minerva Centre, Mundon
