You will recall that a few months back I sent out a consultation letter to you about the Council's intention of establishing a three person Sub-Committee to deal with allegations of misconduct against District and Parish/Town Councillors.
I have received 6 responses to that consultation and these were reported to the Standards Committee in a report on the 16th October. The Committee members discussed the responses given and decided that a three person Sub-Committee should be established and that Councillor D. Keighley of Maldon Town Council should be invited along to attend any Sub-Committee meeting as an observer to ensure that proper processes are followed whenever a Parish/Town Councillor is brought before the Sub-Committee on an allegation of misconduct.
