LEECH MEMORIAL GARDEN
Further to minute 61 of the Environment Committee meeting held on 1st November, 2004 to receive and consider the following quotation for maintenance work within Leech Memorial Garden:
Reset York stone slabs on a concrete base £150.00
Mulch the bed at the north end of the garden
(Members to consider whether this action is required) £ 75.00
Total £225.00 plus VAT

Further to minute 58 of the Environment Committee meeting held on 1st November, 2004 to note that the sign at St. Giles Ruins, which is not readable from the road, said the following:

Unfortunately, a section of this sign has become dislodged and it is now impossible to read it. In view of this, members are requested to consider whether a new sign should be purchased , if so, whether it should be located nearer to the gate and the wording amended in any way. |

YOUTH CONCERNS
Further to minute 73 of the Environment Committee meeting held on 29th November, 2004 to receive a response from Inspector K. Jacobs, Maldon Police regarding youth concerns. (copy herewith - members only)

WINTER SERVICES
Further to minute 74 of the Environment Committee meeting held on 29th November, 2004 members are informed that the following response has been received from the Maintenance and Policy Engineer, Highways and Transportation, Essex County Council:
Thank you for your letter dated 21st December, 2004. Your request has been forwarded to our Mid Essex Manager (Tel. 01245 240000) who will advise on the locations suggested and arrange the installation.

ALL SAINTS CHURCHYARD - FENCE
Members are informed that a supporting bar from the metal boundary fence at All Saints Churchyard has broken off. In view of this, members are requested to consider whether they wish Tom Polden to re-instate this bar. For information the bar will be available for inspection at the meeting.

EXCLUSION OF THE PRESS AND PUBLIC
In accordance with s.1 of the Public Bodies (Admission to Meetings) Act 1960 to resolve that in view of the confidential nature of the business to be discussed it is in the opinion of the Committee advisable in the public interest that the public and press be temporarily excluded and they be instructed to withdraw.

SUNDIAL
Further to minute 42.2 of the Environment Committee meeting held on 7th September, 2004 members are informed that the sundial has been taken down from the external wall of the Plume Building and is now being stored within the office.
Members are informed that Sally Bowling has submitted a report on the sundial (copy herewith) and Mr. John Close did not make a charge for attending the site on the day the sundial came down. (minute 8.1 of the Finance and General Purposes Committee meeting held on 15th June, 2004 refers)
