RESOLVED: that the Town Council objects to this application as the proposed development is outside the development boundary and there are vacant brown field sites that could be used for such purposes; contrary to Policies M/NE/11 NATURE CONSERVATION and M/SH/1 SHOPPING DEVELOPMENT OUTSIDE TOWN CENTRES, in the adopted Maldon District Local Plan and Policies M/CC/2 DEVELOPMENT AFFECTING LOCALLY DESIGNATED NATURE CONSERVATION SITES AND M/SH/1 RETAIL DEVELOPMENT in the Draft Replacement Local Plan. Members felt that access would cause congestion, and if the development was approved there should be left turn access only with central road barriers, there should be a planning gain to provide a bridge crossing in Limebrook Way.

This is a large attractive tree but the removal of dead wood would improve its appearance. If the application had been for felling I would have recommended a TPO but as only a 30% crown reduction is requested subject to the work being carried out under supervision.

QUESTIONS FROM THE PRESS AND PUBLIC
In answer to a question the member of the public was informed that in accordance with Standing Orders the Committee had the power to consider planning applications but no other agenda items and notes of the meeting would be issued instead of minutes.
