Members received and considered the minutes of the Planning Committee meeting held on 19h May 2003.

(a) Min 1 - Election of Chairman
Reference was made to the fact that as there had been a tied vote and the Mayor used his Casting Vote in respect of the election of Chairman, this should be included in the minutes.
|

((b) Min 13 - Proposed Orange Base Station in Maldon - Maldon Water Tower
It was noted that the word 'Mayor' in the second line of the third paragraph should read 'Chairman'.
RESOLVED: that (a) the words 'tied and the Mayor used his casting vote' be added to the last sentence of the first paragraph of minute 1;
(b) the word 'Mayor' be deleted from the second line, third paragraph of minute 13 and replaced with 'Chairman';
(c) in all other respects the minutes of the Planning Committee meeting held on 19th May 2003 be approved and signed as a true record.

MALDON DISTRICT DRAFT REPLACEMENT LOCAL PLAN REVISED DEPOSIT
(a) Members received from Mr. J Doe, Planning Policy Team Leader, Maldon District Council a copy of the latest timetable for the remaining stages of the Plan preparation process.
RECOMMENDED: that the information be noted.
(b) Members received a copy report of the Chief Planning and Development Services Officer which was considered at the Planning and Licensing Committee held on 22nd May 2002.

RENEWABLE ENERGY AND THE PLANNING SYSTEM
Further to minute 11 of the Planning Committee meeting held on 19th May 2003, members received correspondence from the Head of Sustainable Development Team regarding Renewable Energy and the Planning System and a schedule of forthcoming meetings. Members noted that Cllr Savage would be attending the meeting at Writtle.
RECOMMENDED: that the information be noted.

HIGH STREET/MARKET HILL MALDON
Members received information from the Highways and Transportation Group, Essex County Council that temporary traffic signals would be in operation for one day only (date not yet known) at or within 2 metres of the location shown on the circulated drawing, to enable gas works to be undertaken.
Members noted that the temporary traffic signals had been in operation the previous day.
RECOMMENDED: that the information be noted.
