A YEARS REVIEW OF THE PLANNING COMMITTEE AND THE FORTHCOMING YEAR
Members received and considered a report circulated at the meeting reviewing the past year of the Planning Committee and detailing certain items that would continue into the new municipal year such as the Replacement Local Plan, the Essex and Southend Replacement Plan and it is probable that an application for the proposed new hospital would arise during the year.
The Chairman referred to the Blackwater Estuary Siltation Steering Group and Cllr Bannister reported that a meeting was to be held on 13th May 2003 at which the consultants would provide an update on the latest survey. Cllrs Savage and Mrs. Riesebeck indicated an interest in attending this meeting. The Chairman asked if any other members had attended workshops and Cllr Savage reported that prior to this meeting he had attended a meeting regarding Renewable Energy and the Planning System which he had found very interesting and would report on at the next Planning Committee meeting.
Members noted that Maldon District Council Planning Officers would be invited to a future meeting to meet the new Planning Committee and advise regarding planning applications.
RECOMMENDED: that (a) details of the next Blackwater Estuary Siltation Steering Group meeting be forwarded to Cllrs Mrs. Riesebeck and Savage;
(b) Cllr Savage report to the next meeting of the Planning Committee regarding his attendance at a meeting on Renewable Energy and the Planning System;
(c) Maldon District Council Planning Officers to be invited to a future meeting of the Planning Committee.
