Re-Schedule of Town Council Meeting
Due to the fact that a Maldon District Council, Central Area Planning Meeting is to be held on Wednesday, 23rd April, 2003 it is recommended that the Town Council meeting due to take place on that date be re-scheduled to Tuesday, 22nd April, 2003.

ANNUAL TOWN COUNCIL MEETING
As a result of the Annual Town Council meeting held on 13th May, 2002 some members expressed the view that these meetings should be held in the Council Chamber, Moot Hall. Members are therefore requested to consider where the Annual Town Council meeting on 12th May, 2003 should be held.

ANNUAL REPORT
To receive and consider a copy of the draft Annual Report. It is very much hoped that the report can be printed and circulated at the Annual Town Meeting. In view of the fact that Maldon Printing Company have recently submitted a very competitive quotation for the Maldon in Bloom leaflet and they produced last year's Annual Report, which won an award, it is recommended that they be approached for a quotation. In view of the time scale it is suggested that the Town Clerk in consultation with the Chairman and Vice-Chairman of the Finance and General Purposes Committee be authorised to approve the quotation for the printing of the Annual Town Report. To receive and consider correspondence from the Planning and Admissions Service, Essex County Council regarding consultation on the qualifying distance for the transport to school of children of primary school age.

PROPOSED NEW COMMUNITY HOSPITAL IN MALDON
To receive and consider a consultation document from the Chief Executive, Maldon and South Chelmsford Primary Care Trust regarding a proposal to build a new community hospital in Maldon. (copy herewith - members only)
Members are informed that a representative of the Primary Care Trust will be attending the Annual Town Meeting to be held on 16th April, 2003 to discuss the proposals.

YOUTH FACILITIES RESEARCH
To receive a report from District Councillor D. Keighley regarding youth facilities in Maldon. (copy herewith)

EUROPEAN YEAR OF DISABLED PEOPLE
A letter has been received from the Maldon District Access Group (MDAG) regarding European Year of Disabled People and inviting the Town Mayor and other members of the Town Council to participate in a "wheel-about" the town centre. The wheel-about will take place on Tuesday, 1st April, 2003 commencing at 2.00 p.m. from the Town Hall; disabled access, parking facilities and improvements for wheelchair bound and disabled people will be considered. The walk is expected to last for 1 hour followed by a 30 minute discussion in the Town Council offices. Any members able to participate should indicate at the Council meeting.

MALDON TOWN / PARISH LIAISON GROUP MEETING
Further to the letter from the Town Clerk dated 14th February, 2003 members are reminded that there will be a meeting of the Maldon Town / Parish Liaison Group at the Langford and Ulting Village Hall on Thursday, 3rd April, 2003.

WEST SQUARE
Members will recall that it had previously been agreed that a tree should be planted in the paving area at West Square. Whilst undertaking the present works a chamber has been found under the existing road/pavement which had not shown up from the radar search. As a result of this, it is not possible to plant a tree and the Essex County Council Transport and Operational Services have requested further suggestions. In their consultation regarding this matter one of the suggestions has been that the Town Sign be moved to this location. Members views are sought.

POSTER FROM MALDON, AUSTRALIA
Members are informed that whilst Margaret Day, Chairman of the Maldon Society was visiting Maldon, Australia a poster and pottery container were presented to her for the Town Council and it is recommended that the poster be framed for display in the Town Council offices alongside existing pictures of Maldon, Australia.

PRESENTATION CLOCK
Members are informed that on Saturday, 2nd March, 2003 the Mayor was presented with a wall clock by the Maldon Promenaders for use in the Town Hall. The clock has been fixed on the centre of the balcony wall in the Town Hall.
